Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. For Foundation, our Day option, you can pay in full or in installments with Klarna. With Klarna, you can choose the number of installments you'd like, up to one year. For weekly and monthly engagements, we'll provide you with custom payment plan options of up to four to six monthly installments.
Will you handle disputes with clients, employees, or vendors?
No. I don’t handle litigation or dispute resolution. My focus is preventive and strategic in helping you avoid those situations in the first place with strong contracts, policies, and legal systems. In our week and month-long engagements, we can build out processes and templated language you can use in the event of a dispute.
I'm not in the U.S. Can I still apply?
Fractional General Counsel Services are only available to U.S. based businesses, sorry. If you live outside of the United States, but your business is registered in the U.S., yes, we can still work together.
Can you replace my accountant, tax advisor, or financial planner?
No. I collaborate with financial professionals, but my focus is legal and strategic. You’ll still need your own CPA, tax advisor, or bookkeeper to handle financial and tax matters.
Will this service cover real estate or tax?
No. With regard to real estate, I don’t handle real estate transactions such as buying or selling property, negotiating with landlords, or drafting commercial leases. However, if you’re signing a lease for your business space, I can review the document in the month-long engagement (and possibly week-long, if we have time). My review focuses on identifying legal and business risks so you understand what you’re signing (not on negotiating the lease).
Are these services a good fit for tech startups seeking investors or planning to raise capital?
No. Our Fractional General Counsel services are designed for established or scaling businesses that want practical, day-to-day legal and strategic support, not companies focused on venture capital, securities offerings, or fundraising. While I can help with entity formation and the initial legal setup (drafting and filing all relevant documents), I do not handle securities compliance, cap tables, or investment rounds. If your business is primarily preparing for or engaged in capital raising, this service is not the right fit. I work best with businesses that are scaling through services, intellectual property, or partnerships and collaborations rather than fundraising.
How is a Fractional General Counsel different from hiring a lawyer for a one-time project?
A one-time project gives you a single contract or IP filing. Fractional General Counsel services gives you a lawyer embedded in your business for a set period not only handling your outstanding legal needs, but also providing a road map and guidance for your next steps. It’s a proactive, integrated approach that helps prevent problems and positions your business for growth, rather than only reacting when an issue arises.
I'm being sued or think I'm about to. Can you handle this during our Fractional GC Services?
No. Fractional General Counsel Services do not cover litigation or litigation preparation. In our week and month long engagements, we can discuss and map out tailored strategies with templated responses you can utilize any time you have a late payment, default payment, issue with a client, how to handle a chargeback, what to do when someone copies your content, how to etc. so you minimize misunderstandings and acrimony leading to litigation; however, our Fractional General Counsel Services do not cover litigation.
